Silent Parrot Killers

Safe vs Unsafe Toys-

THE ABOVE TOYS ARE UNSAFE. ALL NO'S!

Cotton fibres can get stuck in the crop and should be avoided, also happy huts contain dangerous fibres that can be ingested over time. Some wooden toys produced overseas utilise unsafe dyes- it is best to check with the retailer as to how the products are dyed. Small bells often contain zinc which can cause heavy metal poisoning. Felt toys and plastic straws should be avoided as they can be ingested. Strong bullet proof plastic is great for foraging toys, food colouring dyed sponge can also be used.

Toys need to be inspected regularly- ask yourself could my bird get entangled in this toy? Could my bird ingest this? Will this fracture and break easily? Is part of this unsafe woods? These sorts of questions can help prevent accidental injury.

** Above post DIY toys will be very useful in finding simple easy home made toys that are safe for parrots"** Other sources may be pinterest and google images to find good quality toys for your parrot.
